DINING CHAIRS - wishbone chair

Wishbone Chair original designed by Hans Jørgen Wegner (1914-2007), is perhaps his most celebrated work. A light, attractive and comfortable dining chair with the characteristic Y-shaped back.

In addition to being an innovative engineer, designer and architect Norman Cherner was also a prolific furniture designer, of which the dining chair illustrated is just one example.

Our reproduction dining chair is an example of one of the many innovative items he produced during an enigmatic career.

He was educated in the Bauhaus style of interdisciplinary design of housing and carried this school of thought into his furniture design. Although not as well know for furniture design as many of his contemporaries, he was one of the leading innovators in the middle decades of the 20th century.

Our retro reproduction enable his work to reach out to a new generation of modern furniture connoisseurs. (Disclaimer - The name Hans J. Wegner is only used to describe the characteristics of the goods made to the original design, and not as a trade mark.)
