MIND DESIGN - Neuroscience meets design

Kitchen & Bathroom Designers Institute of Australia (KBDi) Symposium on “Design” for Australian kitchen and bathroom designers offered a venue for national members to come together to focus on important subject matters to the industry.

Stimulating talks, seminars and forums on and about architecture and design for design professionals included; Paul Herring of Corporate Connexions International - behavioural approach to success, Amanda Balmer of Wax Designs - incorporating living elements in your interiors, Darren Genner of Minosa - new Bathroom Bliss, Sprout Cooking School & Health Studio - Nutrition and Dietetics influence on Cooking Styles, Rachel Mifsud of Adelaide Agencies - Design Styles & Styling Designs, Kate Harry of Fabrikate - fostering healthy relationships from concept to completion and Agatha Ozhylovski of Agatha O House of Design - environmental neuroscience meets interior design.

During Agatha’s session at the Art Gallery of South Australia, she discussed a new field of people-centred, emotionally intelligent, evidence-based design, and the art of combining scientific research and data with creative flair and imagination.

'The human emotional response system is a hunter... Always seeking out beauty in the form of balance & proportion!

Our innate understanding of form led the Greek sculpture Phidias to arrive at the Golden Ratio, a mathematical principle that he used to design the Parthenon in Athens.

When it comes to designing a built environment, a similar system exists for arriving at the perfect design'. - Agatha Ozhylovski

'It is because of inspiring and knowledgeable speakers such as yourself that this event continues to be such a success. Your session was highly rated by our delegates and considered to be both valuable and enjoyable.  It was great to be able to hear your ideas.  Also, thank you for your contribution to the panel session' - Kitchen and Bathroom Designers Institute of Australia (KBDi)
