With Port Lincoln-based interior designer Agatha O on board, residents of Point Boston Peninsula can have as much or as little involvement in the interiors of their homes as they wish.
Agatha O designs interiors from scratch, but she says just a few changes to a home by a trained eye can sometimes make a world of difference, especially in getting the ‘wow’ in seaside lifestyle. Her interior design services cover personalised complete styling, colour consultation, building selection and landscaping. Through her retail studio she also sources and supplies furniture, furnishings and fittings, right down to tiles, rugs, lights, mirrors and paintings.
Agatha says some buyers will of course want to do the interiors of their homes themselves, but for others the enormous range of products, colours, finishes and styles available can make decisions overwhelming.
Agatha O House of Design does all the legwork, documents the details and works directly with the builder or architect. “It is about working entirely for you and about you,” she says.
Agatha is working on the interior of the recently completed Peninsula Club on the foreshore. Other projects undertaken include 22 display homes in South Australia and Queensland, 20 executive apartments in Roxby Downs and a 48 dwelling apartment building in Adelaide. Projects in which she was involved won Housing Industry Association awards in 2007 and 2008.
The Peninsula Club is the community hub for Point Boston Peninsula, a $450 million environmentally sustainable residential community on the coast of South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula.
Awarded Excellence in the Commercial/Industrial Building in the 2009 Master Builder’s Association 2009 Building Awards, the Peninsula Club is designed to take advantage of breathtaking unspoiled foreshore and natural surrounds and 360-degree views.
The interior design features a dramatic circular open kitchen internally lit with latest-technology LED lighting, a specially commissioned and custom-designed oval-shaped ostrich lounge and a polished concrete floor embedded with iconic local stone.
These elements complement the glass walls that fold back to let the outside in, the purpose-designed transparent membrane roof with natural ventilation and outdoor eating and seating areas.
